Sigil Defined:
We are a guild devoted to enjoyment, success, and community. We are here to conquer new content, to delve into the secrets that are hidden within the World of Warcraft, and to provide an unprecedented gameplay community for our members. Our members are skilled, knowledgeable, and devoted to our cause. We will be the most organized, skilled, and successful guild that we can be while still maintaining a casual, enjoyable atmosphere. We are Sigil, and we play for experience, we play for success, but most of all, we play for fun.
Goals:
Fun -- The number one goal of Sigil is to provide a fun environment in which our members can play the game. World of Warcraft is a video game, and essentially we all play for fun -- in the end, it's all about having a good time.
Success -- We are here to conquer the hardest and most complex dungeons in the game. We strive to acquire rare and powerful items, defeat difficult foes, and to explore the unexplored. We are here to succeed.
Community -- We want to provide a powerful and unified community for all our players. Members hold a mutual respect for one another, and this allows us to be efficient and effective when it's time to get down to business. Guild teamwork and pride are an essential aspect of our raiding community.
Guild Conduct:
Raids -- Members are encouraged to attend official Sigil raids as often as possible. However, great attendance is expected and is the basis for how we reward our members.
Attendance -- Players are expected to notify guild officers of any extended leave of absence (more than one week). Undeclared absences incur no penalty, but members are encouraged to provide as much notice as possible when they plan to miss a raid they might normally attend.
Respect -- Members are expected to hold a mutual respect for one another. While we play on a PvP server and faction PvP is expected, stirring up PvP battles with Horde guilds before raids in places of import (raid zones) is not permitted, as it is likely to delay the progress of the raid.
Chain of Command -- Members are expected to consider advice and "orders" from other higher-rankings members.
Guild Chat-- While we have a relaxed and playful atmosphere, we do not tolerate racial slurs and direct attacks on other members. We expect you to act like an adult and know what is and isn't appropriate for guild chat.
Ventrilo Chat -- The same conduct that applies to Guild Chat (above) applies to all Ventrilo channels (Lobby included) that are not marked as "Uncensored." Your Ventrilo login name should be your character name or your real name (character name is preferred).
Public Actions -- The <Sigil> tag above your name means that you represent our guild. All actions in-game or in the World of Warcraft community (Blizzard forums, Sigil forums, etc.) are expected to adhere to our guild charter and code of conduct.
